A field is still showing even after I changed the field to only show under a specific template.

It’s field set isto show on all but can I not change speciifics under that field set to be different. If not why give the option?

Have latest 1.1.4 on latest wordpress.

Yeah, it should work as you’ve described in theory, there may be an issue with it in your specific circumstance. Is that for a custom post type, or one of the in-built types (e.g. post or page)?

It’s in a “Shared Field Set” which displays in all post types. I want this specific field to be part of that field set but only to display on a specific template.

I have changed the individual field setting (“AVAILABILITY” > “Include only in specific Templates”) to a specific template but it appears on all.

I have figured out the issue. The field still displays if the post/page has no template set (default). If you change the template to anything other than the one set it doesn’t display. Most of the time I just want the default template to be used so this isn’t great for me.

Is this working as you would expect?

Ah, thanks for the additional info. This is definitely an issue, as the field shouldn’t appear on the default setup, it should only appear when the specific template you wanted is selected.

I’ll take a look at this and let you know when a fix is available.

Have you managed to have a look in to this yet?

Hi, yeah I have confirmed that it’s not working correctly and I’m halfway through a fix. I’ll let you know when I have something working, sorry for the delay.

Hi, I’m really sorry about the delay on this. It turns out this is beyond a simple bug and the field visibility wasn’t really implemented at all. I’ve fixed it fairly well for when creating a new post, but editing an existing post is still problematic.

It’s one of those “deep in the system” type of issues too that needs a surprising amount of work to get it going. Will post another update when I’m able to work this out.

This update addresses backwards compatibility issues that were introduced in the previous update. There were some edge cases where PHP 7 had issues and it didn’t work at all on PHP 5.6.We have now changed it so that the PHP 8 compatibility changes will now only affect PHP 8 and will be more thorough with…

Plugin Requirements

MasterPress requires a minimum of WordPress version 4.9, MySQL 5.6, and PHP version 5.6.20.

We also recommend that PHP is configured to use a memory limit of 64MB per request (128MB may be required for sites with higher complexity).

This plug-in is not compatible with the WordPress.com hosted service.
