WOOF_Term :: prev( Arguments $args = array() )

Returns:

  • WOOF_Term The previous term in the sequence.
  • WOOF_Silent An object for silent failure, if there is no previous term.

Gets the previous term in the set of siblings for this term as defined by the query in the $args parameter. Hierarchical taxonomies also respond to a “mode” parameter, to further control what the siblings actually are:

  • flat – the siblings will be the entire set of terms in the same taxonomy flattened first. This would be useful to step through an outline structure of categories, for example.
  • cousin – the siblings will be all terms in this taxonomy at the same depth as this term.
  • sibling (default) – the siblings are the immediate siblings of this term.

Example:

Parameters:

  • Arguments $args = array()

    An arguments array or string to specify the query, with the following defaults:

    • orderby – “name”
    • order – “asc”
    • hide_empty – 0

    This method also supports these additional arguments:

    • mode: sibling | flat | cousin – the sibing mode, see method description – default “sibling”
    • loop: true | false, or 1 | 0 – whether to loop back around to the last term if this is the first term in the sequence – default false

MasterPress 1.4.1 is now available

27th May 2024

This update addresses backwards compatibility issues that were introduced in the previous update. There were some edge cases where PHP 7 had issues and it didn’t work at all on PHP 5.6. We have now changed it so that the PHP 8 compatibility changes will now only affect PHP 8 and will be more thorough…

Plugin Requirements

MasterPress requires a minimum of WordPress version 4.9, MySQL 5.6, and PHP version 5.6.20.

We also recommend that PHP is configured to use a memory limit of 64MB per request (128MB may be required for sites with higher complexity).

This plug-in is not compatible with the WordPress.com hosted service.
