I do like the concept – the only thing about it is that it can reduce the “purity” of the field data somewhat, in the case where you suddenly don’t want the wrapping tag. The API could account for that though in some way, by allowing you to call “value” and allowing the automatic string conversion to check if the field has a wrapper.

We also recommend that PHP is configured to use a memory limit of 64MB per request (128MB may be required for sites with higher complexity).

This plug-in is not compatible with the WordPress.com hosted service.
